Tom Kuhn

Stand up  Bass,  vocals , keeper of all things organizational, holder of Groove, and making sure we get there on time.

Tom’s musical journey began with the trumpet and baritone. Years later, he picked up the guitar to accompany himself while singing. This led him to attend Puget Sound Guitar Workshop and California Coast Music Camp where he was exposed to a wide variety of acoustic styles. After a brief foray into percussion, an influential teacher recommended he try the bass. The first time he played stand-up with a full ensemble, he never looked back. He borrowed an instrument and started bass lessons the following week! Tom has performed on bass in bluegrass, swing, country, folk, and other styles. He also loves funk and other groove-based music and raises the average height of The Musers to 5’7’'.

Anita Bear Sandwina

Instrumental swiss army knife of the band, vocals, song writer and band spirit animal  and chaplin

"Wanna be in a Band?"  Anita approached  Megan  back in 2017 on facebook  and Tom after a Joe Craven  show. Gratefully thye both said yes!

Anita began her musical adventures playing viola in Iowa. She spent days lying in the center of her mother's baroque quartet and cut her teeth on the sounds of Vivaldi's 4 seasons. Inspired by the likes of Greg Brown, who regularly played the Old Mill in her hometown, she picked up the guitar at 14. Poetry solved her teenage dilemmas. This grew into a songwriting practice. The ensemble and harmony have always been her loves in music. Many bands later, including Spark & Whisper Anita has found her forever band.
